About

Dartmoor Radio Club meets on the last Thursday of each month at the  Yelverton War Memorial Village Hall (map, What Three Words)

Meetings start at 1930 hrs and last about 2 hours. There is usually a talk on an interesting topic for about an hour. There is an antenna installed at the Memorial Hall that allows us to be active on the HF bands during club nights as well.

The annual subscription is £10, but students are exempt from paying this.

Historically the club has a good record of getting aspiring amateurs through their examinations. Unfortunately, there are no qualified registered instructors in the club at present to get candidates through the current hierarchy of examinations – Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced. However, with the aid of other local clubs and the Deputy Regional Manager of the Radio Society of Great Britain training can always be arranged.

Visitors are always welcome. So, if you already have an interest in radio or are simply interested to find out more please just come along and say ‘hello’.

Field Days
The club holds regular field days throughout the year. During the summer months the venue is usually outdoors on Dartmoor (weather permitting !), whilst in the winter months we head inside, usually at the Yelverton War Memorial Hall. We are active using the club callsigns G1RCD, GX1RCD, G0DRC and GX0DRC.
