Dominic (M0BLF) has been very busy during the Coronavirus lockdown. I’ll let him explain things in his own words…
…I’m still working my normal day job from home but I’ve had a few other radio projects on, which might interest club members.
The first priority was keeping the local community broadcast FM station running without access to their studios, which we achieved by a couple of us engineers installing home studios that could be remotely controlled by presenters. The full technical write-up is at https://www.domsmith.co.uk/blog/2020/03/28/cambridge-105-coronavirus-technical/
The next project for me was finishing my station for the QO-100 amateur radio satellite. I’ve put together a half-hour video of the project at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6izyfb6kuDk , which club members might like to see.
And the next big project is ensuring the Cambridge University amateur club shack can be entirely remotely controlled, since students aren’t back until October and they want to work DX. More on that in due course!
