When we have a Coxtor Field Day in the calendar there is a reasonable chance that it will be called off due to adverse (wind, rain etc) weather. However, in the run up to the Field Day today we have all been struggling with the second heat wave of the year… Today the weather was very kind, after a mistry start that soon cleared away we were left with nice and sunny and very little wind.
The station was setup to run on battery power and we were also trying out the club’s new Dx Commander antenna. Despite the perfect weather on Dartmoor, the bands were a challenge especially with large parts of the UK still suffering extreme heat and thunder storms.
We got a fair few entries in the log, so many thanks to all the stations that we worked today.
